Independent 7, Alba Party 1. The resort and port town of Ayr, together with Troon with its famous golf course. Prestwick Airport is 30 miles from Glasgow but is the city's airport. South of Ayr, past Burns' birthplace of Alloway is the Carrick area, rural and sparsely populated.
