Hackney Independent Socialist group 3. East London borough, including Shoreditch media industries and an orthodox Jewish enclave in Stamford Hill. Jules Pipe put the council back in order after a catastrophic split in 1996, as leader and then Mayor. Since 2023 the Mayor has been Caroline Woodley.
The Green Party gained Stoke Newington from Labour at a byelection on 12 September.
