Independent Group 7, Independent 2, Non-aligned 2. Town at the northern edge of the West Midlands, which is based on manufacturing. The residential areas of Aldridge, Darlaston and Willenhall are also included. Dave Church led a radical Labour group in the 1990s which fell foul of the national party.

Seven Labour councillors including the group leader moved to Independent in November 2023; Sabina Ditta (Palfrey) moved from Labour to Independent ungrouped.
