The Conservatives gained a seat from the Liberal Democrats in Bramhall South and Woodford at a byelection on 31 October. At byelections on 17 October, the Liberal Democrats held seats in Bredbury Green and Romiley, and Cheadle West and Gatley. Aron Thornley (Marple South and High Lane) moved from Independent to Labour in August 2024.
