North East Derbyshire

North East Derbyshire Independents 5, Independent Group 2, Reform UK 1. Wraps around the south, west and north of Chesterfield, and was formerly a centre of coalmining. Includes Clay Cross where the council members were surcharged for refusing to implement council house rent rises in 1973.

Stephen Reed (Killamarsh East) moved from Conservative to Reform UK in February 2025. The North East Derbyshire Independents were formed in December by three Liberal Democrats, one Conservative and one Independent. The Conservatives gained Clay Cross North from Labour at a byelection on 10 October.
