Gateshead

Independent 1. Much regenerated town on the southern side of the River Tyne, including the Baltic Centre. The borough also includes Blaydon ((home of the Blaydon races), and Felling (a key location in the Poulson corruption scandal).

The Liberal Democrats held Whickham North at a byelection on 24 October. Jane McCoid (Lamesley) moved from Labour to Independent in September 2024.
