The Liberal Democrats held Eamont and Shap at a byelection on 27 February. Ali Jama (Upper Kent) moved from Liberal Democrat to Independent in January 2025. The Liberal Democrats gained a seat from the Conservatives in Kirkby Stephen and Tebay at a byelection on 31 October.
