Bolsover isn’t beastly to Labour

The latest updates on local electoral information are as follows.

Results

Bolsover: A byelection in Bolsover North West ward on 8 January was won by Sue Statter. Labour hold.

East Hampshire: Philip Drury, who was elected for the Liberal Democrats in Whitehill (Hogmoor) ward, has left the party to sit as an Independent councillor following complaints over comments written on Facebook.
Fenland: David Patrick, who was elected for the Liberal Democrats in Kirkgate ward but had left the party in summer 2013, has now joined the UK Independence Party.
Isle of Wight: Julie Jones-Evans, who was elected for the Conservative Party in Newport Central ward, has not renewed her membership of the party and is now an unaligned councillor.
Northampton: A husband and wife pair of councillors have moved from the Labour group to the Conservative group. They are Mohammed Aziz (Castle ward) and Nahar Begum (Trinity ward).
Poole: Two councillors have moved from the Liberal Democrats to the Conservatives. They are Lindsay Wilson (Alderney ward) and her father Graham Wilson (Newtown ward).
Scottish Borders: Two councillors have left the Independent group and gone into opposition after voting against a funding decision. They are Watson McAteer and Stuart Marshall, both of whom represent Hawick and Denholm ward.

Bolsover: It should be recorded that the vacancy in Bolsover North West ward which was filled this week was caused by the death of Labour councillor Tom Rodda. The term ends in May.
Canterbury: Heron ward, after the death of Liberal Democrat councillor Ron Flaherty. His term was due to end in May so he will not be replaced in a byelection.
Darlington: Park East ward, after the death of Labour councillor Joe Lyonette. As his term was due to end in May, there will be no byelection.
Denbighshire: Rhyl South West division, after the death of Labour councillor Margaret McCarroll. Term ends 2017.
Shropshire: Oswestry East, after the resignation of Conservative councillor Martin Bennett. Term ends 2017.

Cambridgeshire: The byelection due in Bar Hill division will be held on 12 February.
Carmarthenshire: The byelection due in Hengoed division will take place on 19 February.
