Shortly before the Conservatives won the Great Eccleston byelection on Wyre borough council in Lancashire, they received another boost when Labour councillor Marlene Colby switched sides.
On Caradon district council, Glenn Renshaw who had been elected as a Liberal Democrat councillor for Saltash Essa ward, has now joined Mebyon Kernow – the party campaigning for greater self-government for Cornwall.
