Two Colchester borough councillors, father and son team Terry and Craig Sutton, have joined the Conservatives. Their move gives the Conservatives a clear overall majority on the council. Also, Ian Proud of Newcastle-upon-Tyne City council, has left the Labour Party (to which he defected from the Liberal Democrats last year) to sit as an independent. Finally, Zahida Abbas Noori has become the sixth Ealing borough councillor to leave Labour and join the Conservatives in two days.
Will any councillors who are sticking with the party they were elected for, please confirm in the comments?
