Results
- Derbyshire Dales: The byelection in Calver and Longstone ward held on 14 November was won by Helen Froggatt. Conservative gain fron Green Party.
- East Ayrshire: The byelection in Doon Valley ward held on 14 November was won by Jim Kyle. Labour hold.
- East Ayrshire: The byelection in Kilmarnock West and Crosshouse ward held on 14 November was won by Jayne Sangster. Labour hold.
- Edinburgh: The byelection in Colinton/Fairmilehead ward held on 14 November was won by Louise Spence. Liberal Democrat gain from Labour.
- Greenwich: The byelection in Shooters Hill ward held on 14 November was won by Raja Zeeshan. Labour hold.
- Milton Keynes: The byelection in Bradwell ward held on 14 November was won by Kerrie Bradburn, who succeeds her late father. Liberal Democrat hold.
- Milton Keynes: The byelection in Broughton ward held on 14 November was won by Clare Tevlin. Liberal Democrat hold.
- Redbridge: The byelection in Wanstead Park ward held on 14 November was won by Emma Shepherd-Mallinson. Labour hold.

Defections
- Bolton: Two councillors have left the Horwich and Blackrod First Independents to join the Independent group. They are Charlotte Moncado-Sears (Horwich North ward) and Samantha Williamson (Horwich South and Blackrod ward).
- Central Bedfordshire: Two councillors elected for the Liberal Democrats in Leighton-Linslade West ward have left the party. They are Steve Owen, now in the Independent Alliance, and Russ Goodchild, who is an unaligned Independent.
- Cotswold: Chris Twells, who was elected for the Liberal Democrats in Tetbury with Upton ward but left it to be an Independent councillor before joining the Liberal Party in July, has now returned to being an Independent councillor.
- Teignbridge: Alex Hall, who was elected for the South Devon Alliance in Buckland and Milber ward, has joined the Conservative group following the dissolution of the Alliance. A further former South Devon Alliance councillors has joined the Independent group, Keeley Gearon (Kingsteinton East ward).
- West Northamptonshire: Sue Sharps, who was elected as an Independent councillor for Brackley ward, has joined the Labour Party.
New vacancies
- Chesterfield: Hasland ward, after the resignation of Labour councillor Stuart Brittain. Term ends 2027.
- Colchester: Tiptree ward, after the death of Conservative councillor Roger Mannion. Term ends 2028.
- Hyndburn: Baxenden ward, after the death of Labour councillor Edward Blake. Term ends 2028.
- Wokingham: Winnersh ward, after the death of Liberal Democrat councillor Paul Fishwick. Term ends 2026.
Dates for byelections
- Barnsley: The byelection due in Dodworth ward will be held on 12 December.
- Dudley: The byelection due in Brockmoor and Pensnett ward will be held on 19 December.
- Greenwich: The byelection due in West Thamesmead ward will be held on 19 December.
Other updates
- Lancaster: The council’s coalition administration, which had involved Labour, Green Party and Liberal Democrats, has collapsed. The former Labour council leader has said the Green Party called on him to resign now they were the largest party. The Labour cabinet members have resigned and the Green Party members have been dismissed; the Leader has himself resigned. It appears that a single Liberal Democrat councillor may remain in the cabinet.
- Tower Hamlets: The Secretary of State has announced that she intends to intervene in the council, following a Best Value inspection.
