Results
- Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole: The byelection in Muscliff and Strouden Park ward held on 24 October was won by Toby Slade. Conservative gain from an Independent.
- Calderdale: The byelection in Calder ward held on 24 October was won by Jonathan Timbers. Labour hold.
- Crawley: The byelection in Northgate and West Green ward held on 24 October was won by Khayle Abu Mosa. Labour hold.
- Denbighshire: The byelection in Prestatyn North ward held on 24 October was won by Anton Sampson. Conservative gain from Labour.
- East Lindsey: The byelection in Croft ward held on 24 October was won by Carl Drury. Conservative hold.
- Gateshead: The byelection in Whickham North ward held on 24 October was won by Susan Craig. Liberal Democrat hold.
- Isle of Anglesey: The byelection in Talybolion division held on 24 October was won by Kenneth Hughes. Independent gain from Plaid Cymru. It is unclear which of the two Independent groups he will join.
- Middlesbrough: The byelection in Hemlington ward held on 24 October was won by Tom Mohan. Labour hold.
- Monmouthshire: The byelection in Town ward held on 24 October was won by Martin Newell. Conservative gain from Labour.
- New Forest: The byelection in Barton and Becton ward held on 24 October was won by John Adams. Conservative hold.
- South Cambridgeshire: The byelection in Histon and Impington ward held on 24 October was won by James Rixon. Liberal Democrat hold.
- South Ribble: The byelection in Middleforth ward held on 24 October was won by Joan Burrows. Conservative gain from Labour.
- Surrey Heath: The byelection in Old Dean ward held on 24 October was won by Dave Hough. Liberal Democrat gain from Conservative.
Defections
- Aberdeenshire: Two councillors who recently left the Conservatives have now joined Reform UK. They are Mark Findlater (Troup ward) and Laurie Carnie (Mearns ward).
- Bromsgrove: Sam Ammar, who was elected for the Labour Party in Charford ward but left the party in June, has now joined the Liberal Democrats. She is the current year’s Chairman of the council.
- Darlington: Thomas Robinson, who was elected for the Green Party in Hummersknott ward, has left the party to sit as an Independent councillor.
- Epping Forest: Jaymey McIvor, who was elected for the Conservatives in Ongar ward but left the party in June, has now joined Reform UK.
- Essex: Jaymey McIvor, who was elected for the Conservatives in Ongar and Rural division but left the party in June, has now joined Reform UK.
- Kirklees: Jo Lawson, who was elected for the Labour Party in Crosland Moor and Netherton but left the party in February and formed the Kirklees Community Independents, has now left that group to sit as an Independent councillor.
- Middlesbrough: The two Independent ward councillors for Marton East ward have left the Middlesbrough Independent Councillors’ Association to set up their own Marton East Independent Group. They are Dorothy Davison and Jason McConnell.
New vacancies
- Chelsmford: South Hanningfield, Stock and Margaretting ward, after the death of Conservative councillor Ian Grundy. Term ends 2027.
- Essex: Stock division, after the death of Conservative county councillor Ian Grundy. Term ends May next year.
- South Oxfordshire: Cholsey ward, after the resignation of Liberal Democrat councillor Ben Manning. Term ends 2027.
- Wokingham: Shinfield ward, after the resignation of Labour councillor Sarah Bell. Term ends 2028.
- York: Haxby and Wigginton ward, after the resignation of Liberal Democrat councillor Ed Pearson. Term ends 2027.

- Barking and Dagenham: The byelection due in Northbury ward will be held on 28 November.
