• Bexley: The byelection in Belvedere ward held on 10 October was won by Jeremy Fosten. Labour hold.
• Ceredigion: The byelection in Tirymynach division held on 17 October was won by Gareth Lewis. Liberal Democrat hold.
• Cumberland: The byelection in Keswick ward held on 17 October was won by Sally Lansbury. Labour hold.
• Cumberland: The byelection in Wetheral ward held on 17 October was won by Gareth Ellis. Conservative hold.
• Falkirk: The byelection in Falkirk South ward held on 17 October was won by Claire Aitken. Labour hold.

Defections

• Aberdeenshire: Catherine Victor, who was elected for the Scottish National Party in North Kincardine ward but suspended from membership in February, has now returned.
• Kirklees: Ammar Anwar, who was elected for Labour in Dewsbury West ward but left the party in January and joined the Kirklees Community Independents, has now left them to sit as an Independent councillor.
• Mansfield: Sidney Walker, who was elected for the Mansfield Independents in Newlands Forest Town ward, but joined Reform UK in July, has now left that party and is sitting as an Independent councillor.

• Horsham: Denne ward, after the resignation of Liberal Democrat councillor John Milne, now Member of Parliament for Horsham. Term ends 2027.
• Shetland Islands: Shetland North ward, following the resignation on 31 October of Labour councillor Tom Morton. Term ends 2027.
• Somerset: Blackmore Vale ward, after the resignation of Liberal Democrat councillor Sarah Dyke, now Member of Parliament for Glastonbury and Somerton. Term ends 2027.
• South Gloucestershire: Frampton Cotterell ward, after the resignation of Liberal Democrat councillor Claire Young, now Member of Parliament for Thornbury and Yate. Term ends 2027.
• Wakefield: Featherstone ward, after the death of Labour councillor Graham Isherwood. Term ends 2027.
