- Birmingham: The byelection in Kingstanding ward held on 30 May was won by Clifton Welch. Conservative hold.
Change of allegiance
- Ashford: Bill Barrett, an Independent councillor for Singleton East, has now joined the Ashford Independent group. He has been appointed as a Cabinet member in an administration led by them.
- Bath and North East Somerset: Alan Hales, who was elected for the Conservatives in Keynsham South ward, has joined the Independent Group.
- Birmingham: Ayoub Khan, who was elected for the Liberal Democrats in Aston ward, has left the party to contest the general election as an Independent candidate.
- Colchester: Lesley Scott-Boutell, who was elected for the Liberal Democrats in Stanway ward, has left the party to sit as an Independent councillor.
- Darlington: Colin Pease, who was elected for the Conservatives in Sadberge and Middleton St George ward, has left the party to sit as an Independent councillor.
- East Devon: Bethany Collins, who was elected for the Labour Party in Ottery St Mary ward, has left the party to sit as an Independent in the Democratic Alliance Group.
- Flintshire: Ian Hodge, who was elected as an Independent councillor for Holywell East ward, has left the Independent group to sit as a non-aligned councillor.
- Hinckley and Bosworth: Charlotte Green, who was elected for the Labour Party in Barwell ward, has joined the Liberal Democrats.
- Hounslow: Kuldeep Tak, who was elected for the Conservatives in Feltham North ward, has joined the Labour Party.
- Kirklees: Masood Ahmed, who was elected for the Labour Party in Dewsbury South ward, has joined the Community Alliance group which has now been formed by five other previously Labour councillors – including the council leader.
- Lancashire: Mohammed Iqbal, who was elected for the Labour Party in Brierfield and Nelson West, has left the party to sit as an Independent county councillor.
- Melton: Christopher Evans, who was elected for the Conservatives in Long Clawson and Stathern ward, has left the party to sit as a non-aligned councillor.
- North East Lincolnshire: Oliver Freeston, who was elected for the Conservatives in Croft Baker ward, has joined Reform UK.
- Spelthorne: Mary Bing Dong, who was elected for the Liberal Democrats in Sunbury Common ward, has joined the Conservatives.
- Wealden: Andrew Wilson, who was elected for the Liberal Democrats in Crowborough South East ward, has left the party to sit as an ungrouped Independent councillor. Meanwhile Neil Cleaver (Hailsham Central ward), who made the same move earlier this month, has joined the Conservatives.
- West Northamptonshire: Phil Larratt, who was elected for the Conservatives in Nene Valley ward, has been suspended by the party and is sitting as a non-aligned councillor.
