The latest updates on local electoral information are as follows.
Results
- Cornwall: The byelection in Looe West, Pelynt, Lansallos and Lanteglos division held on 4 April was won by Jim Candy. Liberal Democrat hold.
- North Northamptonshire: The byelection in Desborough ward held on 4 April was won by Bill McElhinney. Conservative hold.
- Wealden: The byelection in Uckfield New Town ward held on 28 March was won by Donna French, who was an Independent candidate and succeeds another Independent.
Changes of allegiance
- Lewes: Imogen Makepeace, who was elected for the Green Party in Lewes Priory ward, has left the party and is sitting as an Independent councillor.
- Mid Devon: Claudette Harrower, who was elected for the Conservatives in Tiverton Westexe ward, has joined the Liberal Democrats.
- Pendle: All ten members of the Labour group have seceded and formed a new Independent group on the council. The ruling Labour/Liberal Democrat coalition will continue as an Independent group/Liberal Democrat coalition.
- Somerset: Hazel Prior-Sankey, who was elected for the Liberal Democrats in Taunton South division, has left the party to sit as an Independent councillor.
- Wiltshire: Edward Kirk, who was elected for the Conservatives in Trowbridge Adcroft division, has left the party to sit as an unaligned councillor.
New vacancies
- Cumberland: Harraby North ward, after the death of Labour councillor Cyril Weber. Term ends 2027.
- Highland: Tain and Easter Ross ward, after the death of Highland Independent councillor Alasdair Rhind. Term ends 2027.
