The latest updates on local electoral information are as follows.
Results
- Cotswold: The byelection in Lechlade, Kempsford and Fairford South ward held on 14 December was won by Tristan Wilkinson. Liberal Democrat hold.
- North Kesteven: The byelection in Billinghay Rural ward held on 14 December was won by Adrian Whittle. Liberal Democrat gain from Conservative.
- Rugby: The byelection for two seats in Dunsmore ward held on 14 December was won by Jonathan Bennett of the Liberal Democrats, and Jill Simpson-Vince of the Conservatives. The Liberal Democrat gained one seat from the Conservatives; the Conservatives held the other.
- Swale: The byelection in Abbey ward held on 14 December was won by Charles Gibson. Liberal Democrat hold.
- Three Rivers: The byelection in Chorleywood South and Maple Cross ward held on 14 December was won by Harry Davies. Liberal Democrat hold.
- Warwickshire: The byelection in Dunsmore and Leam Valley division held on 14 December was won by Dale Keeling. Conservative hold.
Changes of allegiance
- Bristol: Zoe Goodman, who was elected for the Labour Party in Filwood ward, has left the party over its stance on the Middle East crisis, to sit as an Independent councillor.
- Hastings: Six councillors have left the Labour group to form the Hastings Independents Group; the six are the council’s Leader Paul Barnett and deputy leader Maya Evans (both Bollington ward), and the other four cabinet members: Andy Batsford (St Helens ward), John Cannan (Wishing Tree ward), Ali Roark (Tressell ward) and Simon Willis (Ore ward). This change also therefore changes the council administration.
- Kensington and Chelsea: Eva Jedut, who was elected for the Labour Party in Dalgarno ward, has been expelled from the party and is sitting as an Independent councillor.
- North Kesteven: Amelia Bailey, who was elected as a Lincolnshire Independent councillor in Ashby de la Launde, Digby and Scopwick ward, has left the group to sit as an unaligned councillor.
- Peterborough: Mohammed Rangzeb. who was elected for the Conservatives in Ravensthorpe ward, has left the party over its stance on the Middle East crisis, to sit as an Independent councillor.
- Plymouth: Andrea Loveridge, who was elected for the Conservatives in Plympton Erle ward, has left the party to sit as an Independent member.
- South Ayrshire: Mark Dixon, who was elected for the Scottish National Party in Ayr North ward, has left the party to sit as an Independent councillor.
New vacancies
- Basildon: Billericay East ward, after the resignation of Conservative councillor David Dadds. Term ends 2027.
- Dacorum: Tring West and Rural ward, after the resignation of Liberal Democrat councillor John Mottershead due to ill health. Term ends 2027.
- Folkestone and Hythe: Romney Marsh ward, after the resignation of Conservative councillor Liz Grant. Term ends 2027.
- Glasgow: Hillhead ward, after the death of Labour councillor Hanzala Malik. Term ends 2027.
- Horsham: Henfield ward, after the resignation of Independent councillor Malcolm Eastwood. Term ends 2027.
- Pendle: Earby and Coates ward, after the resignation of Conservative councillor Rosemary Carroll. Her term would have ended in May next year so no byelection follows.
- West Northamptonshire: East Hunsbury and Shelfleys ward, afer the resignation of Conservative councillor Suresh Patel due to ill health. Term ends 2025.
- Wiltshire: Calne Chilvester and Abberd division, after the death of Conservative councillor Tony Trotman. Term ends 2025.

- Richmond-upon-Thames: The byelection due in Hampton North ward will be held on 18 January 2024.
- Richmond-upon-Thames: The byelection due in Teddington ward will be held on 18 January 2024.
- Scottish Borders: The byelection due in Jedburgh and District ward will be held on 22 February 2024.
- Sheffield: The byelection due in Stannington ward will be held on 18 January 2024.
- Wandsworth: The byelection due in Tooting Broadway ward will be held on 18 January 2024.
- Warwick: The byelection due in Warwick All Saints and Woodloes ward will be held on 18 January 2024.
