The latest updates on local electoral information are as follows.
Results
- Bristol: The byelection in Bishopston and Ashley Down ward held on 24 August was won by James Crawford. Green Party hold.
- Dudley: The byelection in St James’s ward held on 24 August was won by Caroline Reid. Labour gain from Conservative.
- Isle of Wight: The byelection in Wootton Bridge division held on 24 August was won by Sarah Redrup. Liberal Democrat gain from an Independent elected for localist party Vectis.
Changes of allegiance
- Bromley: Jonathan Laidlaw, who was elected for the Conservatives in Bromley Common and Holwood ward, has left the party group and is sitting as an Independent councillor.
- Buckinghamshire: Nabeela Rana, who was elected for the West Wycombe Independents in Ryemead and Micklefield ward but left the party in July, has now joined the Conservative Party.
- Coventry: Two councillors who had been suspended from the Labour whip have been readmitted. They are Tariq Khan (Foleshill ward) and Christine Thomas (Binley and Willenhall ward).
- Mid Devon: Stuart Penny, who was elected for the Conservatives in Upper Yeo and Taw ward, has left the party to sit as an ungrouped Independent councillor.
- North Yorkshire: John Cattanach, who was elected as an Independent in Cawood and Escrick division has now left the North Yorkshire Independents group.
- Sunderland: Colin Nicholson, who was elected for the Liberal Democrats in Pallion ward, has left the party to sit as an Independent councillor.
New vacancies
- Cheltenham: Prestbury ward, after the resignation of People Against Bureaucracy councillor John Payne. Term ends May next year.
- Haringey: South Tottenham ward, after the resignation of Labour councillor and former council leader Charles Adje. Term ends 2026.
- Haringey: White Hart Lane ward, after the resignation of Labour councillor Yvonne Say. Term ends 2026.
- Lambeth: Vauxhall ward, after the death of Labour councillor Liam Jarnecki. Term ends 2026.
- North Lanarkshire: Motherwell South East and Ravenscraig ward, after the resignation of the Provost and Scottish National Party councillor Agnes Magowan. Term ends 2027.
- Tamworth: Amington ward, after the resignation of Labour councillor Liam Bone. Term ends 2027.

- Tamworth: The byelection due in Amington ward will be held on 5 October.
