Upset result from the Boleyn ground

The latest updates on local electoral information are as follows.

Results

Corporation of London: The election of Alderman for Castle Baynard ward held on 13 July was won by Martha Grekos. The election was non-partisan.
Newham: The byelection in Boleyn ward held on 13 July was won by Mehmood Mirza. Independent gain from Labour.
Newham: The byelection in Wall End ward held on 13 July was won by Stephanie Garfield. Labour hold.
Norfolk: The byelection in West Depwade division held on 13 July, was won by Prof Catherine Rowett. Green Party gain from Conservative.
Rotherham: The byelection in Dinnington ward held on 13 July was won by Julia Hall. The Conservatives regain a seat lost when the former councillor left the party.

Peterborough: Three Conservative councillors who left the party last month, have now joined Peterborough First. They are John Howard and Mohammed Farooq (both Hargate and Hempsted ward) and Saqib Farooq (Glinton and Castor ward).
Three Rivers: Lisa Hudson, who was elected for the Conservatives in Rickmansworth Town ward but left the party group in April, has now returned.
Thurrock: Sue Sammons, who was elected for the Conservatives in East Tilbury ward, has left the party over a decision to reduce bus subsidies, and is sitting as an Independent councillor.

Dudley: St James’s ward, after the resignation of Conservative councillor Wayne Sullivan. Term ends May next year.
Isle of Wight: Wootton Bridge division, after the resignation of Vectis Party councillor Daryll Pitcher following his imprisonment. Term ends 2024.
Newcastle-under-Lyme: Knutton ward, after the resignation of Labour councillor Stephanie Talbot. Term ends 2026.
Swale: Minster Cliffs ward, after the death of veteran Conservative councillor Ken Ingleton. Term ends 2027.

Bristol: The byelection due in Bishopston and Ashley Down ward will be held on 24 August.
St Albans: The byelection due in Marshalswick East and Jersey Farm ward will be held on 17 August.

High Peak: A corrigendum: on 9 June we erroneously reported a vacancy in St John’s ward. The seat is not vacant.
