The latest updates on local electoral information are as follows.
Results
Changes of allegiance
- Canterbury: A new Independent Serve to Lead Group has been formed on the council by Ashley Clark (Seasalter ward) and Anne Dekker (Herne and Broomfield ward), both of whom were elected for the Conservatives. Two councillors who left the Conservatives in February have also joined: Colin Spooner (Seasalter ward) and Peter Vickery-Jones (West Bay ward).
- Dartford: Two councillors elected for the Swanscombe and Greenhithe Residents Association, both of whom left the group in April 2021, have now joined the Conservatives. They are Anita Barham (Swanscombe ward) and Sue Butterfill (Greenhithe and Knockhall ward).
- Epping Forest: Nigel Avey, who was elected for the Conservatives in Broadley Common, Epping Upland and Nazeing ward, has left the party to sit as an Independent councillor.
- Guildford: Paul Abbey, who was elected for the Residents 4 Guildford and Villages group in Ash South ward, has joined the Liberal Democrats.
- Hastings: Lucian Fernando, who was elected for the Conservatives in Silverhill ward, has left the party to sit as an Independent councillor.
- New Forest: Joe Reilly, who was elected for the Conservatives in Ashurst, Copythorne South and Netley Marsh ward, has left the party to sit as an Independent councillor. Meanwhile Barry Rickman, who was elected for the Conservatives in Boldre and Sway ward but left the party in April 2021, has returned.
- Pembrokeshire: Mel Phillips, who was elected as an Independent in Pembroke St Michael division but had been sitting as an ungrouped councillor, has now joined the Independent group.
- Sandwell: Two councillors elected for the Labour Party have joined the Liberal Democrats. They are Richard Jones (Old Warley ward), and Richard McVittie (Newton ward).
- South Holland: Francis Biggadike, who was elected for the Conservatives in Holbeach Town ward, has left the party to sit as an ungrouped councillor.
- Wirral: David Burgess-Joyce, who was elected for the Conservatives in Greasby, Frankby and Irby ward, has left the party to sit as an Independent councillor.
New vacancies
- Brighton and Hove: Rottingdean Coastal ward, after the death of Labour councillor Dr Robert McIntosh. His term was due to end in May so no byelection will follow.
- Brighton and Hove: Rottingdean Coastal ward, after the resignation of Conservative councillor Mary Mears. She will not be replaced as her term would have ended in May.
- Burnley: Hapton with Park ward, after the resignation of Independent councillor Peter Gill, who was elected for the UK Independence Party, then joined the Conservatives, but was sitting as an Independent councillor. His term would have ended next month so no byelection ensues.
- North Yorkshire: Eastfield division, after the resignation of Labour councillor Tony Randerson. Term ends 2027.
- St Albans: St Peters ward, after the resignation of Liberal Democrat councillor Danny Clare. Term ends 2024.
- Wiltshire: Tisbury division, after the resignation of Liberal Democrat councillor Nick Errington. Term ends 2025.
- Salford: Pendlebury and Clifton ward, after the resignation of Labour councillor Sophia Linden. Term ends 2024.
- Waverley: Godalming Central and Ockford ward, after the resignation of Liberal Democrat councillor Anne-Marie Rosoman. She was due to end her term in May so no byelection will be held.
- Woking: Canalside ward, after the resignation of Labour councillor Mohammad Ali. His term was to have ended in May so he will not be replaced.
Date for byelection
- Salford: There will be a double vacancy election in Pendlebury and Clifton ward on 4 May.
