The latest updates on local electoral information are as follows.
Results
Herefordshire: The byelection in Bromyard West ward held on 10 March was won by Clare Davies who stood as an Independent candidate. She is expected to join the True Independents group so this result is a gain from the Independents for Herefordshire Group.
Hertfordshire: The byelection in Hitchin South division held on 10 March was won by Keith Hoskins. Liberal Democrat hold.
North Hertfordshire: The byelection in Hitchin Highbury ward held on 10 March was won by Raj Bhakar. Liberal Democrat hold.
Rutland: The byelection in Ryhall and Casterton ward held on 10 March was won by Rick Wilson. Green Party gain from an Independent elected as a Conservative.
Flintshire: Chris Dolphin, who was elected for the Liberal Democrats in Whitford division, has left the party to sit as a non-aligned councillor. It is also noted that Andy Hughes, Independent councillor for Gwernymynydd division, is sitting in the Liberal Democrat group although not a member of the party.
King’s Lynn and West Norfolk: Alan Holmes, who was elected as an Independent in Denver ward and had been a member of the Group of Independents, has joined the Liberal Democrats.
Kingston-upon-Thames: Nicola Sheppard, who was elected for the Conservatives in Old Malden ward, has left the party to sit as an Independent councillor.
Cherwell: Launton and Otmoor ward, after the impending resignation of Conservative councillor Tim Hallchurch, due to ill health. Term ends 2023.
Colchester: New Town and Christchurch ward, after the death of Liberal Democrat councillor and former Mayor Nick Cope. Term ends 2023.
Rutland: Uppingham ward, after the resignation of Green Party councillor Miranda Jones. Term ends 2023.
Wyre: Cleveleys Park ward, after the death of Conservative councillor Rita Amos. Term ends 2023.
Dates for byelections
Durham: The byelection due in West Auckland division will be held on 14 April.
Surrey Heath: The byelection due in Bisley and West End ward will be held on 14 April.
Tewkesbury: The byelection due in Brockworth East ward will be held on 14 April.
Other updates
Renfrewshire: Paul Mack, who was elected as an Independent councillor for Paisley Southeast ward, has been successful in his appeal against the Standards Board for Scotland which last May disqualified him for 16 months. The term of disqualification has been reduced to 10 months, which will run from May, allowing him to stand again at the full council elections this May.
Staffordshire: Tom Loughbrough-Rudd, who had previously announced his intention to resign his seat amid controversy over funding of a Community Interest Company he ran, has now declared he will remain. He was elected for the Conservatives but is now sitting as an Independent county councillor.
