The latest updates on local electoral information are as follows.
Results
Torfaen: The byelection in Abersychan and Cwmavon division held on 8 April was won by Lynda Clarkson. Labour gain from Independent.
Torfaen: The byelection in Cwmynyscoy division held on 8 April was won by John Killick. Labour hold.
Torfaen: The byelection in New Inn division held on 8 April was won by Keith James. Conservative hold.
Changes of allegiance
Bolton: A number of councillors have recently changed groups. Bernadette Eckersley-Fallon (Westhoughton North and Chew Moor), elected for the Liberal Democrats, has joined the Conservatives. Paul Heslop (Kearsley ward), elected for Farnworth and Kearsley First, now sits as ‘One Kearsley’. Robert Allen (Heaton and Lostock ward), who was suspended from the Conservative group, has now joined the Bolton Independent Group together with Beverley Fletcher (Breighmet ward) and Diane Parkinson (Hulton ward).
Glasgow: The four-strong Independent Councillors group has split, with Michael Cullen (Garscadden/Scotstounhill ward) and Elspeth Kerr (Drumchapel/Anniesland ward) forming an Independent group.
Middlesbrough: Jon Rathmell (Nunthorpe ward), who was leader of the Middlesbrough Independent Councillors Association, has been removed from the group and is sitting as an Independent councillor.
Spelthorne: The United Spelthorne Group has split. Joanne Sexton (Ashford North and Stanwell South ward) and Richard Smith-Ainsley (Laleham and Shepperton Green ward) have formed an Independent Spelthorne Group.
New vacancy
Waltham Forest: Grove Green ward, after the death of the Mayor of Waltham Forest Chris Robbins, a former council leader who was a Labour councillor. Term ends 2022.
Dates for byelections
None set this week.
Other updates
Epping Forest: We erroneously reported a vacancy in Roydon ward last week. Sitting councillor Mary Sartin has not resigned.
