Results
- Crawley: The byelection in Tilgate ward held on 26 September was won by Maureen Mwagale. Conservative hold.
- Ipswich: The byelection in Alexandra ward held on 26 September was won by Adam Rae. Labour hold.
- Luton: The byelection in Icknield ward held on 26 September was won by Asif Masood. Labour gain from Conservative.
- Rochford: The byelection in Sweyne Park and Grange ward held on 26 September was won by Danielle Belton. Conservative gain from Rochford District Residents.
- West Sussex: The byelection in Ethandune division held on 26 September was won by Brenda Burgess. Conservative hold.
Changes of allegiance
- Bristol: Tony Carey, who was elected for the Conservative Party in Brislington East ward, left the part over the summer and has now joined the Liberal Democrats.
- Chiltern: Mark Titterington, who was elected for the Conservatives in Holmer Green ward, has left the party and is now sitting as an Independent Conservative.

- Cornwall: Wadebridge East division, after the resignation of Liberal Democrat councillor Karen McHugh. Term ends 2021.
- Croydon: Fairfield ward, after the resignation of Labour councillor Niroshan Sirisena. Term ends 2022.
- Fife: Dunfermline Central ward, after the resignation of Conservative councillor Alan Craig. Term ends 2022.
- Flintshire: Bagillt West division, after the resignation of Labour councillor Mike Reece. Term ends 2022.
- Liverpool: Picton ward, after the resignation of Labour councillor Paul Kenyon. Term ends 2022.
- South Ribble: Coupe Green and Gregson Lane ward, after the resignation of Conservative councillor Sarah Whittaker. Term ends 2023.
- Warwick: Lillington ward, after the resignation of Liberal Democrat councillor Heather Calver. Term ends 2023.

- Chelmsford: The byelection due in Marconi ward will be held on 7 November.
- Flintshire: The byelection due in Bagillt West division will be held on 24 October.
