The latest updates on local electoral information are as follows.

Results

Bury: The byelection in Radcliffe West ward held on 29 August was won by Mike Smith. Radcliffe First gain from Labour.
South Lanarkshire: The byelection in East Kilbride Central North ward held on 29 August was won by Grant Ferguson. The Scottish National Party regain a seat lost when the former councillor left the party.

Bolton: Mark Cunningham, who was elected for the UK Independence Party in Kearsley ward, has joined the Brexit Party.
Bristol: Sultan Khan, who was elected for Labour in Eastville ward but left the party in March, has joined the Liberal Democrats.
Dumfries and Galloway: A Dumfries and Galloway Socialist Group has been formed by three councillors. Ronnie Nicholson (North West Dumfries ward) had been non-aligned having left the Labour group in February; Tommy Sloan had been elected as Labour, and Willie Scobie was elected as an Independent. Both Sloan and Scobie represent Stranraer and The Rhins ward. It is also noted that Andrew Wood, elected for the Scottish National Party in Mid and Upper Nithsdale ward, has left the party to sit as an Independent councillor.
South Tyneside: Glenn Thompson (Westoe ward) has been named as Brexit Party candidate for South Shields but remains an Independent member of the council.
West Devon: Robin Musgrave, who was elected for the Liberal Democrats in Bere Ferrers ward, has left the party to sit as an Independent councillor.

Aberdeen: Torry and Ferryhill ward, after the resignation of Scottish National Party councillor Catriona Mackenzie. Term ends 2022.
Charnwood: Syston West ward, after the resignation of Conservative councillor Eric Vardy, who was the cabinet member for planning. Term ends 2023.
Essex: Clacton East division, after the resignation of David Sargeant who was an Independent member of the non-aligned group on the council but supported by Holland-on-Sea Residents’ Association. Term ends 2021.
Hounslow: Feltham North ward, after the death of Labour councillor and former council leader John Chatt. Term ends 2022.
St Albans: Clarence ward, after the resignation of Liberal Democrat councillor Caroline Brooke. Term ends 2022.
Watford: Tudor ward, after the resignation of Liberal Democrat councillor Joe Fahmy due to work commitments. Term ends 2023.
West Sussex: Bourne division, after the resignation of Brexit Party councillor Viral Parikh; he was elected for the Conservatives. Term ends 2021.

Charnwood: The byelection due in Syston West ward will be held on 3 October.
Essex: The byelection due in Clacton East division will be held on 3 October.
Somerset West and Taunton: The byelection due in Norton Fitzwarren and Staplegrove ward will be held on 3 October.
