The latest updates on local electoral information are as follows.
Results
Croydon: The byelection in Norbury and Pollards Hill ward on 14 March was won by Leila Ben-Hassel. Labour hold.
Durham: The byelection in Wingate division on 14 March was won by John Higgins. Labour hold.
Southampton: The byelection in Coxford ward on 14 March was won by Matthew Renyard. Labour gain from Independent.
Changes of allegiance
Torfaen: Alan Slade, who was elected for the Labour Party in Llantarnam division, has left the party to sit as an Independent councillor. He was opposed to the council’s budget.
Worcester: Louise Griffiths, who was elected for the Green Party in Battenhall ward, has joined the Conservatives. Her move gives the Conservatives an overall majority but the Worcester council constitution requires an all-party administration
New vacancies
Dover: Buckland ward, after the death of Labour councillor Simon Bannister. As his term would have ended in May, no byelection will be held.
Durham: Spennymoor division, after the resignation of Spennymoor Independent councillor Geoff Darkes. Term ends 2021.
Exeter: Priory ward, after the resignation of Labour councillor Kate Hannan. Term ends 2020.
North East Lincolnshire: South ward, after the resignation of Labour councillor Ray Oxby, who was also the council leader. Term ends 2020.
Shropshire: Belle Vue division, after the resignation of Labour councillor Harry Taylor. Term ends 2021.
Watford: Meriden ward, after the resignation of Liberal Democrat councillor Antony Barton. Term ends 2022.
