The latest updates on local electoral information are as follows.
Results
Corporation of London: At the wardmote on Wednesday 29 August, William Russell was duly elected Alderman for Bread Street ward unopposed. He has served since 2013.
Sevenoaks: The byelection in Farningham, Horton Kirby and South Darenth ward held on 30 August was won by Brian Carroll. Conservative hold.
North Warwickshire: Brian Moss, who was elected for the Labour Party in Kingsbury ward but had left it to sit as an Independent councillor, has joined the Conservative Party.
Portsmouth: Jennie Brent, who was elected for the Conservatives in Eastney and Craneswater ward, has left the party to sit as an Independent councillor.
Telford and Wrekin: Kevin Guy, who was elected for the Labour Party in Woodside ward, has joined the Liberal Democrats. As a result Labour now no longer has an overall majority, but will retain control through the Mayor’s casting vote.
Halton: Ditton ward, after the disqualification of Labour councillor Shaun Osborne, who failed to attend any meeting of the council in six months. Term ends May next year.
Oxfordshire: Iffley Fields and St Mary’s division, after the resignation of Labour county councillor Helen Evans who is moving out of the county. Term ends 2021.
South Derbyshire: Hilton ward, after the resignation of Conservative councillor Amy Plenderleith. Term ends May next year.
Dates for byelections
Chesterfield: The byelection due in Moor ward will be held on 4 October.
Cambridgeshire: The byelection due in Soham North and Isleham division will be held on 4 October.
