The Liberal Democrats had the best of the byelections on 22 November, gaining seats from the Conservatives in Rhiw division of Conwy county borough council and in Manor ward of Forest Heath district council. They also easily held on to Aylsham division of Norfolk county council and Wickham ward of Winchester city council.
All other byelections went with serve. The Conservatives held on to West ward, Wellingborough borough council, Labour to Hareholme ward, Rossendale borough council, the Scottish National Party to Lochee ward, Dundee city council, and in Llandybie division of Carmarthenshire county council, one independent replaced another.
In last week’s byelection, the Conservatives held Heighington and Washingborough division in Lincolnshire county council.
