The latest updates on local electoral information are as follows.
Results
- Bolton: The byelection held in Hulton ward on 18 January was won by Toby Hewitt. Conservative gain from Labour.
- Bournemouth: The byelection in Throop and Muscliff ward on 18 January was won by Kieron Wilson. He stood as an Independent candidate and succeeds another Independent.
- Milton Keynes: The byelection in Newport Pagnell North and Hanslope ward on 18 January was won by Bill Green. Conservative hold.
- Rochford: The byelection in Downhall and Rawreth ward on 18 January was won by Craig Cannell. Liberal Democrat hold.
Changes of allegiance
- Lewes: A disagreement within the Conservative group has led two councillors, Dave Neave (Peacehaven West ward) and Wayne Botting (East Saltdean and Telscombe Cliffs ward), to resign the Conservative whip and sit as Independents. As a result the Conservatives have lost their majority on the council.
- Shepway: Susie Govett, who was elected for the UK Independence Party in New Romney ward, has left the party to sit as an Independent councillor.
- Wychavon: Matt Snape, who was elected for the Conservatives in Evesham South ward, has left the party to sit as an Independent after criticism over retweeting a message some considered offensive.

- Chiltern: Ridgeway ward, after the death of Independent councillor Derek Lacey. Term ends 2019.
- East Staffordshire: Stretton ward, after the resignation of Conservative councillor Dale Spedding (who was elected only last October). Term ends 2019.
- Harlow: Little Parndon and Hare Street ward, after the resignation of outgoing council leader Jon Clempner who was a Labour councillor. Term ends 2020.
- Highland: Caol and Mallaig ward, after the death of Scottish National Party councillor Billy MacLachlan. Term ends 2022.
- Medway: Rochester West ward, after the resignation of Conservative councillor Kelly Tolhurst MP after her appointment as Assistant Whip in the government. Term ends 2019.
- New Forest: Milford ward, after the death of Conservative councillor Sophie Beeton. Term ends 2019.
- North East Derbyshire: Grassmoor ward, after the resignation of Labour councillor Julie Hill. Term ends 2019.
- Warrington: Lymm South ward, after the death of veteran Conservative councillor and former Mayor Sheila Woodyatt. Term ends 2020.
- York: Holgate ward, after the resignation of Labour councillor Sonja Crisp for medical reasons. Term ends 2019.

- Dorset: The byelection due in Bridport division will be held on 22 February.
- East Devon: The byelection due in Exmouth Town ward will be held on 1 March.
- East Staffordshire: The byelection due in Stretton ward will be held on 8 February.
- Hertfordshire: The byelection due in Goffs Oak and Bury Green division will be held on 22 February.
- Lichfield: The byelection due in Stowe ward will be held on 22 February.
