The latest updates on local electoral information are as follows.
Results
- Lincoln: The byelection in Park ward held on 3 April was won by Sarah Uldall. Liberal Democrat gain from Labour.
- Neath Port Talbot: The byelection in Cwmllynfell and Ystalyfera ward held on 3 April was won by Susan Grounds. Liberal Democrat gain from Labour.
- St Helens: The byelection in Sutton South East ward held on 3 April was won by John Pinnington. Reform UK gain from Liberal Democrat.
Defections
- Basingstoke and Deane: Marc Connor, who was elected for the Labour Party in Popley ward, has joined the Basingstoke and Deane Independent Group.
- East Sussex: Sam Adeniji, who was elected for the Conservatives in Seaford North division but left the group in December last year, has now returned to the Conservative whip.
- Hertsmere: Graeme Alexander, who was elected for the Labour Party in Borehamwood Brookmeadow ward, has left the party to sit as an Independent councillor.
- Kent: Nigel Collor, who was elected for the Conservatives in Dover Town division, has left the party to sit and staand for re-election as an Independent.
- King’s Lynn and West Norfolk: Alexandra Ware, who was elected for the Labour Party in Gaywood Clock ward, has left the party to sit as an Independent councillor.
- North Devon: Glyn Lane, who was elected as an Independent candidate in Landkey ward, has joined the Conservative Party.
- Somerset: Marcus Barr, who was elected for the Conservatives in Wellington division, has joined Reform UK. He has formed a group with Bente Height (Shepton Mallet division) who joined the party in January.
- Tameside: Gary Ferguson, who was elected for the Labour Party in Longdendale ward, has left the party to sit as an Independent councillor.
- Westminster: Paul Fisher, who was elected for the Labour Party in West End ward, has joined the Conservative Party.
- Wrexham: Anthony Wedlake, who was elected for the Labour Party in Coedpoeth ward, has left the party to join the Trade Unionist and Socialist Coalition.
- Wyre Forest: Two veteran councillors have left the Liberal Democrats to join the Liberal Party. One is Fran Oborski, who was a Liberal Party councillor for many years up to 2015; the other is Shazu Miah. Both represent Offmore and Comberton ward.
New vacancies
- Adur: Buckingham ward, after the death of Labour councillor Nigel Jenner. Term ends 2028.
- Amber Valley: Somercotes ward, after the death of veteran Labour councillor John McCabe. Term ends 2027.
- Barnet: Whetstone ward, after the resignation of Independent councillor Liron Velleman shortly after he had left the Labour group. Term ends 2026.
- Broadland: Acle ward, after the resignation of Conservative councillor Lana Hempsall. Term ends 2027.
- Durham: Framwellgate and Newton Hall division, after the death of Liberal Democrat councillor Mamie Simmons. Her term was due to end next month so no byelection will be held.
- Eastleigh: Eastleigh Central ward, after the resignation of Liberal Democrat councillor Bhavin Dedhia. Term ends 2027.
- Highland: Cromarty Firth ward, after the resignation of Highland Alliance councillor Maxine Smith. Term ends 2027.
- West Northamptonshire: Kingsthorpe North ward, after the resignation of Conservative councillor Michael Brown. His term would have ended next month so he will not be replaced.

- Barnet: The byelection due in Whetstone ward will be held on 15 May.
- Calderdale: The byelection due in Skircoat ward will be held on 8 May.
- Eastleigh: The byelection due in Eastleigh Central ward will be held on 8 May.
- Eastleigh: The byelection due in Hedge End South ward will be held on 22 May.
- West Dunbartonshire: The byelection due in Clydebank Waterfront ward will be held on 15 May.
