The latest updates on local electoral information are as follows.
Results
- Blackpool: The byelection in Marton ward held on 3 October was won by Jim O’Neill. Reform UK gain from Labour.
- Dundee: The byelection in Lochee ward held on 3 October was won by Lee Mills. Scottish National Party gain from Labour.
- Dundee: The byelection in Strathmartine ward held on 3 October was won by Jimmy Black. Scottish National Party hold.
- Lancaster: The byelection in Scotforth East ward held on 3 October was won by Andrew Otway. Green Party gain from Labour.
Defections
- Highland: Struan Mackie, who was elected for the Conservatives in Thurso and Northwest Caithness ward, has left the party to sit as a non-aligned councillor. In addition, Thomas MacLennan, an Independent councillor for Fort William and Ardnamurchan ward, has left the Highland Alliance group to sit as a non-aligned councillor.
- Moray: Tracy Colyer, who was elected for the Conservatives in Keith and Cullen ward, has left the party group to sit as a ‘Conservative non-aligned’ councillor.
- Newcastle upon Tyne: Thom Campion, who was elected for the Liberal Democrats in Castle ward, has left the party to sit as an Independent councillor.
- Tamworth: Stephen Doyle, who was elected for the Conservatives in Stoneydelph ward, has left the party to sit as an unaffiliated Independent councillor.
- Tower Hamlets: Two councillors have left the Aspire group to sit as Independents: Council Speaker Saif Uddin Khaled (Bromley North ward), and former cabinet member Ohid Ahmed (Lansbury ward). As a result the Aspire Party no longer has an overall majority on the council, although it retains executive control through the directly-elected Mayor.
New vacancies
- Dacorum: Hemel Hempstead Town ward, after the resignation of Liberal Democrat councillor Sadie Hobson. Term ends 2027.
- Greenwich: Shooters Hill ward, after the resignation of Labour councillor Danny Thorpe, a former council leader. Term ends 2026.
- Redbridge: Wanstead Park ward, after the resignation of Labour councillor Bayo Alaba, now Member of Parliament for Southend East and Rochford. Term ends 2026.
- Runnymede: Ottershaw ward, after the death of Independent councillor Malcolm Cressey. Term ends 2026.
- Sefton: Litherland ward, after the resignation of former Labour councillor Paul Tweed. Term ends 2027.
- Swale: Murston ward, after the resignation of Independent councillor James Hall. Term ends 2027.

- Glasgow: The byelection due in Drumchapel/Anniesland ward will be held on 21 November.
- Glasgow: The byelection due in Maryhill ward will be held on 21 November.
- Glasgow: The byelection due in North East ward will be held on 21 November.
- West Lothian: The byelection due in Whitburn and Blackburn ward will be held on 14 November.
- Wolverhampton: The byelection due in Bilston North ward will be held on 31 October.
- Wyre: The byelection due in Marsh Mill ward will be held on 7 November.
