The latest updates on local electoral information are as follows.

Results

  • Cambridge: The byelection in Romsey ward held on 12 September was won by Beth Gardiner-Smith. Labour regain a seat lost by the previous councillor leaving the party.
  • Gateshead: The byelection in Bridges ward held on 12 September was won by Robert Waugh. Labour hold.
  • Hackney: The byelection in London Fields ward held on 12 September was won by George Gooch. Labour hold.
  • Hackney: The byelection in Stoke Newington ward held on 12 September was won by Liam Davis. Green Party gain from Labour.
  • Milton Keynes: The byelection in Bletchley East ward held on 12 September was won by Saskia Soden. Labour hold.
  • Newcastle upon Tyne: The byelection in North Jesmond ward held on 12 September was won by Peter Allen. Liberal Democrat hold.
  • Norfolk: The byelection in Freebridge Lynn division held on 12 September was won by Simon Ring, who was an Independent candidate endorsed by the Liberal Democrats who previously held the seat.
  • North Ayrshire: The byelection in Arran ward held on 12 September was won by Charles Currie. Labour gain from Conservative.
  • North Norfolk: The byelection in North Walsham Market Cross ward held on 12 September was won by Malcolm Gray. The Liberal Democrats regain a seat lost by the previous councillor leaving the party.
  • Tower Hamlets: The byelection in Bow East ward held on 12 September was won by Abdi Mohamed. Labour hold.

  • Barking and Dagenham: Village ward, after the resignation of Labour councillor Margaret Mullane, now Member of Parliament for Dagenham and Rainham. Term ends 2026.
  • Blackpool: Bispham ward, after the resignation of Conservative councillor Tony Warne. Term ends 2027.
  • Calderdale: Calder ward, after the resignation of Labour councillor Josh Fenton-Glynn, now Member of Parliament for Calder Valley. Term ends 2028.
  • Dacorum: Bennetts End ward, after the death of Independent councillor John Birnie. Term ends 2027.
  • Derbyshire Dales: Calver and Longstone ward, after the resignation of Green Party councillor Kelda Boothroyd. Term ends 2027.
  • East Ayrshire: Doon Valley ward, after the resignation of Labour councillor Elaine Stewart, now Member of Parliament for Ayr, Carrick and Cumnock. Term ends 2027.
