The latest updates on local electoral information are as follows.
Results
- Northumberland: The byelection in Cramlington Eastfield division held on 22 August was won by Alan Smith. Conservative hold.
- Three Rivers: The byelection in Abbots Langley and Bedmond ward held on 22 August was won by Vicky Edwards. Conservative gain from Liberal Democrat; as a result the Liberal Democrats have lost their overall majority on the council.
- West Lothian: The byelection in Armadale and Blackridge ward held on 22 August was won by Susan Manion. Labour win a seat previously held by an Independent councillor.
Changes of allegiance
- Liverpool: Mirna Juarez, who was elected for the Liberal Democrats in Much Woolton and Hunts Cross ward, has left the party to sit as an Independent councillor.
- Newark and Sherwood: Emma Oldham, who was elected as an Independent in Balderton North and Coddington ward and had been part of the Independents for Newark and District group, has joined the Green Party. She retains her post as Portfolio Holder for Biodiversity and Environmental Services in the council administration.
- North Northamptonshire: Ross Armour, who was elected for the Labour Party in Oakley ward, has left the group and is sitting as an unaffiliated Independent councillor.
- Peterborough: Mohammed Rangzeb, who was elected for the Conservatives in Ravensthorpe ward but left the party in December, has now joined the Green Party.
- Southend-on-Sea: The Southend Independent Group has been formed by Tony Cox (West Shoebury ward), former Leader of the Conservative group, together with fellow former Conservative Darryl Jones (Southchurch ward).
- Spelthorne: Denise Saliagopoulos, who was elected as an Independent in Riverside and Laleham ward but had been affiliated to the Conservatives, has now formally joined them.
- Torfaen: The council’s three ‘Individual Independent’ councillors have all joined Reform UK. They are Alan Slade, Jason O’Connell and David Thomas, all of whom represent Llantarnam ward.
- West Dunbartonshire: Jonathan McColl, who was elected for the Scottish National Party in Lomond ward, has left the party to sit as an Independent councillor.
New vacancies
- East Lindsey: Croft ward, after the death of Conservative councillor Sid Dennis. Term ends 2027.
- Elmbridge: Hersham Village ward, after the resignation of Liberal Democrat councillor Chester Chandler. Term ends 2026.
- Middlesbrough: Hemlington ward, after the death of Labour councillor Jeanette Walker. Term ends 2027.
- New Forest: Barton and Becton ward, after the death of Conservative councillor Keith Craze. Term ends 2027.
- Telford and Wrekin: The Nedge ward, after the death of Labour councillor Chris Turley. Term ends 2027.
- Worthing: Heene ward, after the resignation of Labour councillor Richard Mulholland. Term ends 2026.

- Denbighshire: The byelection due in Rhyl Trellewelyn ward will be held on 26 September.
- Dundee: The byelection due in Lochee ward will be held on 3 October.
- Dundee: The byelection due in Strathmartine ward will be held on 3 October.
- Fylde: The byelection due in Warton ward will be held on 10 October.
- Herefordshire: The byelection due in Credenhill ward will be held on 26 September.
- Mid Suffolk: The byelection due in Thurston ward will be held on Tuesday 24 September.
- Moray: The byelection due in Elgin City South ward will be held on 7 November.
- Waverley: The byelection due in Godalming Binscombe and Charterhouse ward will be held on Tuesday 24 September.
