The latest updates on local electoral information are as follows.
Results
- Coventry: The election in Radford ward, postponed from 2 May to 20 June after the death of the TUSC candidate, was won by sitting councillor Mal Mutton. Labour hold.
- Mansfield: The byelection in West Bank ward held on 20 June was won by Garry Cole. Labour gain from Conservative.
- Mid Devon: The byelection in Tiverton Westexe ward held on 20 June was won by Adam Stirling. The Liberal Democrats regain a seat lost when the previous councillor left the party.
- Oxfordshire: The byelection in Sutton Courtenay and Marcham division held on 20 June was won by Peter Stevens. Liberal Democrat hold.
- Sefton: The byelection in St Oswald ward held on 20 June was won by Helen Duerden. Labour hold.
- Vale of White Horse: The byelection in Sutton Courtenay ward held on 20 June was won by Peter Stevens. Liberal Democrat hold.
Changes of allegiance
- Arun: Trevor Bence, who was elected for the Conservatives in Aldwick East ward, has left the party to sit as an ungrouped Independent councillor.
- Bassetlaw: Fraser McFarland, who was elected for the Conservatives in Clayworth ward, has left the party to sit as an Independent councillor.
- Devon: Rob Hannaford, who was elected for the Labour Party in Exwick and St Thomas division but left the party in January, has now joined the Liberal Democrats.
- North Norfolk: Richard Sims, who was elected for the Liberal Democrats in North Walsham Market Cross ward, has left the party to sit as an Independent councillor, over social media use.
- Oxfordshire: Kevin Bulmer, who was elected for the Conservatives in Goring division but was suspended in March, has now left the party altogether and has accordingly left the Conservative-Independent Alliance group to sit as an ungrouped Inependent councillor.
- Tendring: Four councillors have joined Reform UK. All four were elected for the Conservatives but had left the party to join Tendring Residents’ Alliance. They are Richard Everett (Frinton ward), James Codling (Bluehouse ward), Jeff Bray (Little Clacton ward) and Peter Harris (Weeley and Tendring ward).
- Wyre: David Higgs, who was elected for the Conservatives in Marsh Mill ward, has joined Reform UK.
New vacancies
- Herefordshire: Credenhill ward, after the death of True Independents councillor Bob Matthews. Term ends 2027.
- Huntingdonshire: St Neots Eatons ward, after the resignation of Conservative councillor Graham Welton. Term ends 2026.
- Norfolk: Freebridge Lynn division, after the death of Liberal Democrat county councillor John Crofts. Term ends May next year.
