The latest updates on local electoral information are as follows.
Result
Stirling: The byelection in Dunblane and Bridge of Allan ward held on 25 January was won by Thomas Heald. Conservative hold.
Change of allegiance
Cambridgeshire: Ryan Fuller, who was elected for the Conservatives in St Ives North and Wyton division, has left the party to sit as a non-aligned Independent county councillor.
Dorset: Kate Wheller, who was elected for the Labour Party in Rodwell and Wyke ward but left the party in October 2019, has now returned to it.
Epping Forest: Cherry McCredie, who was elected for the Liberal Democrats in Epping Hemnall ward, has left the party to sit as an Independent councillor.
Newcastle upon Tyne: Habib Rahman, who was elected for the Labour Party in Elswick ward, has left the party over its stance on the Middle East conflict, and is sitting as an Independent councillor.
Bridgend: Aberkenfig ward, after the resignation of Plaid Cymru councillor Ellie Richards. Term ends 2027.
Croydon: Woodside ward, after the resignation of Labour councillor Mike Bonello. Term ends 2026.
Lancaster: Castle ward, after the resignation of Green Party councillor Shelagh McGregor. Term ends 2027.
Mid Devon: Upper Yeo and Taw ward, after the resignation of Independent councillor Stuart Penny, who was elected for the Conservatives but left the party last August. Term ends 2027.
Salford: Ordsall ward, after the forthcoming resignation (on 16 March) of Independent councillor Chris Twells who was elected as a Liberal Democrat. Term ends 2026.
Dates for byelections
Horsham: The byelection due in Henfield ward will be held on 29 February.
Horsham: The byelection due in Southwater North ward will be held on 29 February.
Lewisham: The byelection for the Mayoralty will be held on 7 March.
Mid Devon: The byelection due in Upper Yeo and Taw ward will be held on 7 March.
