- Wakefield: Nadiah Sharp, who was elected for the Labour Party in Wrenthorpe and Outwood ward, has left the party over the Middle East crisis and is sitting as an Independent councillor.
New vacancies
- Calderdale: Illingworth and Mixenden ward, after the resignation of Conservative councillor Guy Beech. His term was due to end in May so no byelection will follow.
- Neath Port Talbot: Briton Ferry East ward, after the resignation of Independent councillor Chris James. Term ends 2027.
- Worcestershire: Evesham North West division, after the death of Conservative county councillor Peter Griffiths. Term ends 2025.
