The latest updates on local electoral information are as follows.
Result
Camden: The byelection in South Hampstead ward held on 1 June was won by Tommy Gale. Labour hold.
Changes of allegiance
Brentwood: Andy Wiles, who was elected for the Conservative Party in Brentwood South ward but was suspended from the party whip in February, has returned to the party.
East Lothian: It is noted that Kenny McLeod, who was elected for the Scottish National Party in Tranent, Wallyford and Macmerry ward, left the party late last year to sit as an Independent councillor.
Rochford: An Independent Conservative group has been formed by two councillors elected for the Conservatives: Gary Myers (Foulness and The Wakerings ward) and Arthur Williams (Roche South ward).
Spelthorne: Andrew McLuskey, who was elected for the Green Party in Ashford Town ward, has left the party and is sitting as an Independent Green councillor.
New vacancies
Havering: Upminster ward, after the death of Havering Residents Association councillor Linda Hawthorn. Term ends 2026.
Dates for byelections
Ceredigion: The byelection due in Llanfarian ward will be held on 20 July.
Kent: The byelection due in Maidstone Central division will be held on 6 July.
Norfolk: The byelection due in West Depwade division will be held on 13 July.
Rotherham: The byelection due in Dinnington ward will be held on 13 July.
Ashford: The Ashford Independents and Green Party will form the administration, after two Conservative councillors voted for them in preference to the Conservative group leader.
Maldon: The last council to settle its political control following the local elections will meet next Thursday, amid some criticism of the stalemate.
West Devon: The council administration will be the West Devon Alliance group which is led by Independent councillors and also includes the Green Party, Liberal Democrats and Labour.
