The latest updates on local electoral information are as follows.
Changes of allegiance
- Bath and North East Somerset: Dr Yukteshwar Kumar, who was elected for the Liberal Democrats in Bathwick ward, has left the party to sit as a non-party councillor.
- Bexley: Adam Wildman, who was elected for the Conservatives in Blendon and Penhill ward, is sitting as an Independent councillor, following publication of a picture showing him at a party during lockdown.
- Denbighshire: Gwyneth Kensler, who was elected for Plaid Cymru in Denbigh Central division but left the party to sit as non-aligned in October, has now returned to the party whip.
New vacancies
- Bristol: Southmead ward, after the resignation of Labour councillor Helen Godwin. Term ends 2024.
- City of London: Aldgate ward, after the resignation of Common Councilman Dhruv Patel. His term was due to end in March so no byelection will be held.
- Wolverhampton: East Park ward, after the resignation of Independent councillor Harman Banger (who was elected for Labour), following a criminal conviction. Term ends 2023.
Dates for byelections
- Dacorum: The byelection due in Berkhamsted West ward will be held on 3 February.
- Dacorum: The byelection due in Boxmoor ward will be held on 3 February.
- Leicester: The byelection due in Evington ward will be held on 3 February.
