- Flintshire: The byelection in Penyffordd division held on 7 October was won by Alasdair Ibbotson. Labour gain from an Independent who had been part of the ‘New Independent’ group on the council.
- Nottingham: The byelection in St Ann’s ward held on 7 October was won by Corall Jenkins. Labour hold.
- Nottingham: The byelection in Sherwood ward held on 7 October was won by Nayab Patel. Labour hold.
- Rushcliffe: The byelection in Musters ward held on 7 October was won by Vicky Price. Liberal Democrat hold.
- Somerset: The byelection in Comeytrowe and Trull division held on 7 October was won by Dawn Johnson. Liberal Democrat hold.
- Somerset West and Taunton: The byelection in Wilton and Sherford ward held on 7 October was won by Thomas Deakin. Liberal Democrat hold.
- Waverley: The byelection in Cranleigh East ward held on 7 October was won by Philip Townsend. Liberal Democrat hold.

- West Sussex: Bourne division, after the resignation of Conservative councillor Mike Magill. Term ends 2025.
- Wirral: Oxton ward, after the death of Liberal Democrat councillor Andy Corkhill. Term ends 2023.

- Canterbury: The byelection due in Gorrell ward will be held on 11 November.
- Denbighshire: The byelection due in Llandrillo division will be held on 18 November.
- Melton: The byelection due in Melton Dorian ward will be held on 11 November.
- West Devon: The byelection due in Bere Ferrers ward will be held on 18 November.
- Lancaster: The byelection due in University and Scotforth Rural ward will be held on 11 November.
- West Sussex: The byelection due in Bourne division will be held on 4 November.
Other updates
- Croydon: A referendum on 7 October voted clearly to introduce a directly-elected Mayor to run the council, rather than a leader elected by the councillors. The first Mayor will be elected next May.
