Changes of allegiance
Aberdeenshire: Colin Pike, who was elected for the Conservative Party in North Kincardine ward, has left the party to sit as an unaligned Independent councillor.
Barnsley: Wayne Johnson, who was elected for the Labour Party in Stairfoot ward, has left the party following his deselection. He intends to stand for re-election as an Independent candidate.
Fareham: A new Independent group has been formed by Leslie Keeble (Fareham West ward) and Keith Barton (Fareham South ward), both of whom were elected for the Conservatives. The two current Independent councillors and one member of the UK Independence Party have joined this group.
Chelmsford: Moulsham Lodge ward, after the resignation of Liberal Democrat councillor Mark Springett. Term ends 2023.
Greenwich: Glyndon ward, after the resignation of Independent councillor Tonia Ashikodi who was elected for the Labour Party. Her resignation follows a disqualifying suspended prison sentence for housing fraud. Term ends 2022.
Milton Keynes: Tattenhoe ward, after the resignation of Conservative councillor Gerald Small. His term was due to end in May so no byelection may be held.
Newport: Victoria division, after the resignation of Labour councillor Christine Jenkins due to ill health. Term ends 2022.
Sheffield: Walkley ward, after the resignation of Labour councillor Olivia Blake, now Member of Parliament for Sheffield Hallam. As her term would have ended in May, there will be no byelection.
