The latest updates on local electoral information are as follows.

Results

  • Ashford: The byelection in Downs North ward held on 18 July was won by Charles Dehnel, who succeeds his late father Stephen. Conservative hold.
  • Cardiff: The byelection in Cyncoed division held on 16 July was won by Robert Hopkins. Liberal Democrat hold.
  • Ceredigion: The byelection in Llanbadarn Fawr – Sulien division held on 18 July was won by Matthew Woolfall-Jones. Plaid Cymru hold.
  • Daventry: The byelection in Brixworth ward held on 18 July was won by Jonathan Harris. Liberal Democrat gain from Conservative.
  • Richmond-upon-Thames: The byelection in East Sheen ward held on 18 July was won by Julia Cambridge. Liberal Democrat hold.
  • Wiltshire: The byelection in Westbury North division held on 18 July was won by Carole King. Liberal Democrat hold.

  • Rugby: The byelection due in Rokeby and Overslade ward will be held on 22 August.

Other updates

  • Lewes: At the full council meeting on Monday the minority Conservative administration was removed from office, and a cross-party alliance voted in to lead the council. The leader is from the Green Party, with a Liberal Democrat as deputy leader; Labour and Independent councillors are also part of the administration.
