The latest updates on local electoral information are as follows.

Results

  • Cambridgeshire: The byelection in Soham North and Isleham division held on 4 October was won by Mark Goldsack. Conservative hold.
  • Chesterfield: The byelection in Moor ward held on 4 October was won by Tony Rogers. Liberal Democrat gain from Labour.
  • Hambleton: The byelection in Thirsk ward held on 4 October was won by Dave Elders. Conservative hold.

  • Great Yarmouth: Ormesby ward, after the death of Conservative councillor Charles Reynolds. Term ends 2020.
  • Kent: Canterbury North division, after the death of Conservative county councillor John Simmonds. Term ends 2021.
  • Stroud: Dursley ward, after the resignation of Labour councillor Alison Hayward. Term ends 2020.
  • Surrey: The Byfleets division, after the death of Conservative county councillor Richard Wilson. Term ends 2021.
  • Welwyn Hatfield: Welwyn West ward, after the death of the council leader, Mandy Perkins, who was a Conservative. Term ends 2020.

Dates for byelections

  • Ealing: The byelection due in Dormers Wells ward will be held on 8 November.
  • Harlow: The byelection due in Netteswell ward will be held on 8 November.
  • Oxfordshire: The byelection due in Grove and Wantage division will be held on 15 November.

Other updates

  • Tower Hamlets: After receiving satisfactory reports from the Commissioners, the government has ended the intervention in Tower Hamlets council which had begun in 2014 under the Mayoralty of Lutfur Rahman.
