The latest updates on local electoral information are as follows.
Results
- Basildon: The byelection in Lee Chapel North ward held on 21 June was won by Kayode Adeniran. Labour hold.
- Basildon: The byelection in Pitsea South East ward held on 21 June was won by Andrew Ansell. Labour gain from the UK Independence Party.
- Basingstoke and Deane: The byelection in Kempshott ward held on 21 June was won by Anne Court, who was re-elected after being disqualified through inability to attend meetings. Conservative hold.
- Brent: The postponed election in Willesden Green ward on 21 June was won by the three Labour candidates Tom Miller, Fleur Donnelly-Jackson and Elliot Chappell.
- Charnwood: The byelection in Quorn and Mountsorrel Castle ward on 21 June was won by Jane Hunt, who returns to the council three years after standing down from Loughborough Nanpantan ward. Conservative hold.
- Cherwell: The postponed election in Bicester West ward on 21 June was won by John Broad, who stood as an Independent candidate. He gains the seat from the Conservatives.
- Fenland: The byelection in Birch ward on 21 June was won by Ian Benney. Conservative hold.
- South Northamptonshire: The byelection in Astwell ward on 21 June was won by Paul Wiltshire. Conservative hold.
- South Northamptonshire: The byelection in Whittlewood ward on 21 June was won by Abigail Medina. Liberal Democrat gain from Conservative.
- Watford: The byelection in Oxhey ward on 21 June was won by Imran Hamid. Liberal Democrat hold.
- West Somerset: The byelection in Alcombe ward on 21 June was won by Nicole Hawkins. Liberal Democrat gain from the UK Independence Party (although the previous councillor was sitting as an Independent).
Changes of allegiance
- Harborough: Mark Graves, who was elected for the Conservatives in Astley ward, has joined the Liberal Democrats.
- Poole: Russell Trent, who was elected for the Conservatives in Alderney ward but left to sit as an Independent in June 2017, has now joined the Liberal Democrats.
- Southampton: The ‘Putting People First’ group on the council, which allied with the Trade Unionist and Socialist Coalition in national politics, has disbanded. The three members, Don Thomas, Tammy Thomas and Keith Morrell, all of whom represent Coxford ward, will now be Independent councillors.
New vacancies
- Bury: East ward, after the resignation of Labour councillor and former council leader Mike Connolly. Term ends 2019.
- Plymouth: Stoke ward, after the resignation of Labour councillor Phillippa Davey who is taking up an appointment as a Special Constable. Term ends 2019.
- Tameside: Ashton Waterloo ward, after the death of Labour councillor Catherine Piddington. Term ends 2020.

- Fife: The byelection due in Inverkeithing and Dalgety Bay will be held on 6 September.
- Fylde: The byelection due in Ansdell ward will be held on 2 August.
- King’s Lynn and West Norfolk: The byelection due in Snettisham ward will be held on 2 August.
- New Forest: The byelection due in Fawley, Blackfield and Langley ward will be held on 26 July.
- North East Lincolnshire: The byelection due in Freshney ward will be held on 26 July.
- Plymouth: The byelection due in Stoke ward will be held on 26 July.
- Thanet: The byelection due in Birchington South ward will be held on 26 July.
- Torridge: The byelection due in Hartland and Bradworthy ward will be held on 26 July.
