The latest updates on local electoral information are as follows.
Results
- Aylesbury Vale: The byelection in Riverside ward on 17 August was won by Ashley Waite. Conservative hold.
- Aylesbury Vale: The byelection in Southcourt ward on 17 August was won by Sally-Anne Jarvis. Liberal Democrat hold.
- Forest Heath: The byelection in St Marys ward on 17 August was won by Robert Nobbs. Conservative hold.
- Peterborough: The byelection in Park ward on 17 August was won by Shaz Nawaz. Labour hold on a surprisingly high 49.9% turnout.
Change of allegiance
- Newcastle-under-Lyme: David Woolley, who was elected for the UK Independence Party in Wolstanton ward but left in March 2015 to sit as a ‘Newcastle Independent’, has now joined the Conservatives.
- Pendle: Rosemary Carroll, who was elected for the Conservatives in Earby ward but had the Conservative whip suspended in June over a facebook post, has been formally suspended from the Conservatives for three months. She will be readmitted to the group on 4 November.
New vacancies
- Arun: Aldwick West ward, after the death of Conservative councillor Jacqui Maconachie. Term ends 2019.
- Breckland: Thetford Priory ward, after the resignation of Conservative councillor Jane Bishop. Term ends 2019.
- Copeland: Egremont South ward, after the impending resignation (taking effect on 29 August) of Labour councillor Lena Hogg. Term ends 2019.
- Gravesham: Meopham North ward, after the death of former Conservative council leader John Cubitt. Term ends 2019.
- Harlow: Toddbrook ward, after the resignation of Labour councillor Rod Truan. Term ends May next year.

- Breckland: The byelection due in Thetford Priory ward will be held on 28 September.
- Chesterfield: The byelection due in Holmebrook ward will be held on 21 September.
- Harlow: The byelection due in Toddbrook ward will be held on 28 September.
- Harrogate: The byelection due in Washburn ward will be held on 28 September.
- Waveney: The byelection due in Oulton Broad ward will be held on 21 September.
