The latest updates on local electoral information are as follows.

Full council election

  • Corporation of London: Elections for all 100 members of the Court of Common Council were held on Thursday 23 March. Most candidates stood as Independents or part of a ward-based slate, and 95 such candidates were elected. In addition five candidates sponsored by the Labour Party were elected.

Results

  • Blackburn with Darwen: The byelection in Higher Croft ward on 23 March was won by Adam Holden, who was the Labour Party candidate; however on polling day it was discovered that his employment with Growth Lancashire Ltd made him ineligible for election as the company was linked to the council. He will not therefore take up the seat.
  • Herefordshire: The byelection in Leominster South ward on 23 March was won by Trish Marsh. The Green Party gain a seat previously held by an Independent.
  • West Somerset: The byelection in Dunster and Timberscombe ward on 23 March was won by Peter Pilkington. Liberal Democrat gain from Conservative.
