The latest updates on local electoral information are as follows.
Change of allegiance
- Lancaster: Liz Scott, who was elected for the Labour Party in John O’Gaunt ward, has left the party to sit as an Independent councillor.
- South Somerset: Amanda Broom, who was elected for the Conservative Party in Chard Combe ward, has joined the Liberal Democrats.
- Sutton: Nick Mattey, who was elected for the Liberal Democrats in Beddington North ward but was suspended and then expelled from the party in January over his opposition to an energy from waste plant, has joined the Green Party. He will continue to sit as an Independent councillor.
New vacancies
- Dorset: Sherborne Rural division, after the resignation of Conservative county councillor Michael Bevan. Term ends 2017.
- East Staffordshire: Stapenhill ward, after the resignation of UK Independence Party councillor Steven Dyche. Term ends 2019.
- Kings Lynn and West Norfolk: Valley Hill ward, after the death of Independent councillor and former Mayor Mike Tilbury. Term ends 2019.
- Lambeth: Gipsy Hill ward, after the death of Labour councillor Niranjan Francis. Term ends 2018.
- Mid Suffolk: Barking and Somersham ward, after the resignation of Conservative councillor David Card. Term ends 2019.
- Milton Keynes: Bletchley East ward, after the resignation of Labour councillor Carole Baume due to ill health. Term ends 2019.
- North Norfolk: Astley ward, after the resignation of Conservative councillor Steven Ward. Term ends 2019.
- Selby: Byram and Brotherton ward, after the death of Labour councillor Jack Crawford. Term ends 2019.
- Southwark: Surrey Docks ward, after the resignation of Liberal Democrat councillor Lisa Rajan who is moving to Manchester. Term ends 2018.
- Suffolk: Carlford division, after the death of Conservative county councillor Peter Bellfield. Term ends 2017.

- Dorset: The byelection due in Sherborne Rural division will be held on 2 June.
- East Staffordshire: The byelection due in Stapenhill ward will be held on 26 May.
- Lambeth: The byelection due in Gipsy Hill ward will be held on 9 June.
- Mid Suffolk: The byelection due in Barking and Somersham ward will be held on 2 June.
- Milton Keynes: There is a double vacancy election on 5 May in Bletchley East ward.
- North East Lincolnshire: The byelection due in South ward will be held on 9 June.
- Southwark: The byelection due in Surrey Docks ward will be held on 9 June.
