The latest updates on local electoral information are as follows.
Change of allegiance
- Cardiff: Ralph Cook, who was elected for the Labour Party in Trowbridge division but left the party in January, has joined the Green Party.
New vacancies
- Caerphilly: Gilfach division, after the resignation of Labour councillor and former council leader Harry Andrews. Term ends 2017.
- Eden: Appleby Appleby ward, after the death of Independent councillor Keith Morgan. Term ends 2019.
- Elmbridge: Walton South ward, after the death of Conservative councillor Stuart Hawkins. His term was due to end in May so there will be no byelection.
- North East Lincolnshire: South ward, after the resignation of Labour councillor Chris Stanland. Term ends 2019.
- South Cambridgeshire: Haslingfield and The Eversdens ward, after the resignation of Independent councillor Robin Page. His resignation is in protest at the scale of development in the council, and the inability of the authority to influence it. As his term was due to end in May, he will not be replaced at a byelection.
Dates for byelections
- Hambleton: The byelection due in Northallerton South ward will be held on 26 May.
- Hambleton: The byelection due in Northallerton division will be held on 26 May.
