- Barnsley: The byelection in Dearne North ward on 27 August was won by Annette Gollick. Labour hold.

- Aberdeenshire: Huntly, Strathbogie and Howe of Alford ward, after the death of the leader of the Scottish National Party group, councillor Joanna Strathdee. Term ends 2017.
- Bolsover: Bolsover South ward, after the death of Labour councillor James Hall. Term ends 2019.

- Cherwell: The byelection due in Banbury Grimsbury and Castle ward will be held on 1 October.
- Eilean Siar: The byelection due in An Taobh Siar Agus Nis ward will be held on Wednesday 7 October.
