Results
- Cardiff: The byelection in Pentyrch division held on 30 June was won by Gavin Hill-John. Conservative hold (by 18 votes).
- Lincolnshire: The byelection in Grantham Barrowby division held on 2 July was won by Mark Whittington. Conservative hold.
- Richmond upon Thames: The byelection in Hampton Wick ward held on 2 July was won by Geraldine Locke. Liberal Democrat gain from Conservative.
New vacancies
- Edinburgh: Leith Walk ward, after the resignation of Scottish Green Party councillor Maggie Chapman. Term ends 2017.
- Falkirk: Denny and Banknock ward, after the resignation of Scottish National Party councillor John McNally, now Member of Parliament for Falkirk. Term ends 2017.
- Fife: Glenrothes West and Kinglassie ward, after the resignation of Scottish National Party councillor Peter Grant, now Member of Parliament for Glenrothes. Term ends 2017.
- Orkney Islands: West Mainland ward, after the death of Independent councillor Alistair Gordon. Term ends 2017.
- Powys: Glasbury division, after the resignation of Conservative councillor Chris Davies, now Member of Parliament for Brecon and Radnorshire. Term ends 2017.
- South Ayrshire: Ayr East ward, after the resignation of Scottish National Party councillor Corri Wilson, now Member of Parliament for Ayr, Carrick and Cumnock. Term ends 2017.
Dates for byelections
- Edinburgh: Leith Walk ward now has two vacancies; there will be a double-member election on 10 September.
- Falkirk: The byelection due in Denny and Banknock ward will be held on 13 August.
- Orkney Islands: The byelection due in West Mainland ward will be held on Tuesday 18 August.
- Powys: The byelection due in Glasbury division will be held on 13 August.
- West Oxfordshire: The byelection due in Witney North ward will be held on 20 August.
