Dates for byelections

  • Corporation of London Common Council: The byelection due in Bassishaw ward will take place on 18 June.
  • Corporation of London Common Council: The byelection due in Bridge and Bridge Without ward will take place on Friday 3 July.
  • Corporation of London Common Council: The byelection due in Candlewick ward will take place on Wednesday 17 June.
  • Cumbria: The byelection due in Greystoke and Hesket division will take place on 16 July.
  • Kingston-upon-Thames: The byelection due in Grove ward will take place on 16 July.
  • Norfolk: The byelection due in Gorleston St Andrews division will take place on 16 July.
  • North Lanarkshire: The byelection due in Wishaw ward will take place on 13 August.
  • Rother: The byelection due in Battle Town ward will take place on 16 July.
  • Sandwell: The byelection due in Newton ward will take place on 9 July.
  • Tendring: The byelection due in Rush Green ward will be held on 16 July.
  • Westminster: The byelection due in Harrow Road ward will be held on 23 July.

Other updates

  • Aberdeenshire: The Conservative-led coalition which has been running the council since 2012 has been voted out of office. Instead the leaders of the Independent and Scottish National Party groups will be co-leaders of the council, in coalition with Labour.
  • Tendring: The faction of the UK Independence Party which is in coalition with the Conservatives and Independents has renamed itself from ‘Tendring UKIP’ to be the Coastal Independents group.
