Fife: Bill Brown, who was elected for the Scottish National Party in Glenrothes West and Kinglassie ward, has left the party to sit as an Independent councillor.
Highland: Linda Munro, who was elected for the Liberal Democrats in North West and Central Sutherland ward, has left the group to sit as a non-aligned councillor.
Newcastle-under-Lyme: David Stringer, who was elected for the Labour Party in Ravenscliffe ward, has left the party to sit as an Independent councillor.
South Lanarkshire: Pat Lee, who was elected for the Scottish National Party in Clydesdale West ward, has joined Solidarity.
Tendring: A Conservative offer of a coalition administration has split the UK Independence Party group. Nine councillors have formed the ‘Tendring UKIP’ group which has gone into coalition with the Conservatives, while the remaining 13 are in opposition.

Other news
Aberdeenshire: The ruling ‘Aberdeenshire Alliance’ coalition, made up of Conservatives, Liberal Democrats, Independents and Labour, has broken up with several Independent councillors and the two Labour members withdrawing support. It is expected that the Scottish National Party will take control at a special meeting on 8 June.
Tendring: A coalition deal has been agreed between the Conservatives, Independents and a breakaway group of UK Independence Party councillors who have formed the ‘Tendring UKIP’ group.
Thurrock: Labour will continue to run a minority administration.
