The latest updates on local electoral information are as follows.
Changes of allegiance
- Bristol: Fi Hance, who was elected for the Liberal Democrats in Redland ward, has joined the Green Party.
- Medway: Mark Joy, who was elected for the UK Independence Party in Strood South ward, has left the group to sit as an Independent councillor.
- Southend-on-Sea: A new Southend Independence Group has been formed by Tino Callaghan (Prittlewell ward), Lawrence Davies (Kursaal ward) and James Moyies (West Shoebury ward). All three were originally elected as UK Independence Party councillors.
- Wandsworth: James Cousins, who was elected for the Conservatives in Shaftesbury ward, has left the party to sit as an Independent councillor.
- Worcester: Alan Amos, who was elected for the Labour Party in Warndon ward but left the party a year ago in a row over the Mayoralty, has now joined the Conservatives. He was a Conservative MP in 1987-92.
New vacancies
- Caerphilly: New Tredegar ward, after the resignation of Labour councillor Gerald Jones, now Member of Parliament for Merthyr Tydfil and Rhymney. Term ends 2017.
- Cardiff: Pentyrch division, after the resignation of Conservative councillor Craig Williams, now Member of Parliament for Cardiff North. Term ends 2017.
- Lincolnshire: Grantham Barrowby division, after the resignation of Conservative county councillor Jo Churchill, now Member of Parliament for Bury St Edmunds. Term ends 2017.
- North Lanarkshire: Thorniewood ward, after the resignation of Scottish National Party councillor Duncan McShannon. Term ends 2017.
- Peterborough: West ward, after the resignation of Conservative councillor Nick Arculus, who is moving to the Falkland Islands. Term ends 2018.
Dates for byelections
- Cambridgeshire: The byelection due in Romsey division will take place on 25 June.
- North Lanarkshire: The byelection due in Thorniewood ward will be held on 9 July.

- Allerdale: The Labour group has formed an administration including one of the Independent councillors.
- Brighton and Hove: Labour has formed a minority administration.
- Great Yarmouth: The Conservative group leader has been elected as council leader, and has formed a minority administration.
- Hart: The Conservatives will continue to run a minority administration.
- Kirklees: The Labour leader has been re-elected as council leader and has formed a minority administration.
- Milton Keynes: Labour will remain in control as a minority administration.
- Newcastle-under-Lyme: The new Labour group leader has been elected council leader, and has formed a minority administration.
- North Devon: The council now has a Conservative leader and a minority Conservative administration.
- Pendle: The Liberal Democrats have swapped sides. After previously being part of a coalition with the Conservatives, this week they joined with Labour to remove the Conservative council leader and replace him with the Labour group leader. The administration will now be a Labour/Liberal Democrat coalition.
- Peterborough: The new Conservative group leader has been elected unopposed as council leader, and has formed a minority administration.
- Plymouth: By agreement between the parties, the executive of the council will be run by Labour as a minority administration.
- Portsmouth: There will continue to be a minority Conservative administration.
- Southend-on-Sea: A majority coalition has been formed between the Independents, Labour, Liberal Democrat and Southend Independence Group.
- Stroud: The Labour/Green/Liberal Democrat administration will continue to run the council.
- Telford and Wrekin: The Labour Party has formed a minority administration.
- Tendring: The Conservative and UK Independence Party groups appear close to agreeing a rainbow coalition; however Labour has declared it will not participate.
- Three Rivers: The Liberal Democrats will continue to run the council as a minority administration.
- Weymouth and Portland: The council will continue to have an all-party administration; the Conservatives are now to chair the Management committee in place of Labour.
- York: A coalition of the Conservatives and Liberal Democrats has been formed to run the council.
